Simple DIY Raspberry Pi Camera mount and housing

I recently bought two pi camera modules for my Raspberry Pi. I thought about a good way to mount them to a tripod and/or safely put them away when i need a free desk. So i came up with this super simple and cheap mountable housing made out of a small fridge box.

I drilled 4 holes in the bottom of the box to mount the camera board and cut a small opening for the camera cable. I cut some screw anchors to approx 1 cm length. They act as spacer between board and the bottom of the box. 4 Screws with nuts hold everything in place.

To mount the box to a tripod i drilled a larger hole into the bottom of my box cam housing. A tripod socket mount holds the box cam in place.

I call it The BoxCam Pi.

So what is this blog about?

I will try to use this blog to keep track of my many projects. Currently i tinker a lot with Raspberry Pi. I am especially interisted in physical computing and hacking alternative camera lenses for the pi camera.

But i have soo many interists that it is hard to not lose focus - Well, just look at my desk. ;)

Best.
